Vanavond is the easiest way to find out what's happening in Amsterdam — curated, local, and updated every night. Not for tourists. Not for everyone. For people who actually live here and want to know what's worth going to.
Every event on Vanavond is pulled from sources we trust and filtered to Amsterdam only. Nothing appears here because someone paid for it — no promoter can buy a listing. If it's on Vanavond, it's because it's genuinely happening in the city and worth knowing about.
We'd rather show fewer good events than more mediocre ones.
Every source on this list was chosen because it already makes editorial decisions — a platform, a venue, or a promoter whose taste we trust. We're a filter on top of other trusted filters.
Resident Advisor
The global benchmark for electronic music credibility, running since 2001. RA doesn't list events — it endorses them. When a show appears on RA, the whole world notices. We pull every Amsterdam-area listing they publish.
Hidden Agenda
Amsterdam's most trusted underground promoter. They've been running nights in this city for over a decade, and their programming consistently prioritises music over marketing. A Hidden Agenda event is a recommendation.
Treehouse NDSM
The waterfront venue that Amsterdam Noord built its nightlife identity around. Treehouse has a loyal, scene-specific community that doesn't need to advertise — its regulars already know. We list everything they announce.
OBA
The public library, which turns out to run some of the best talks, readings, and culture nights in the city. Free, open to everyone, and consistently underrated. If you've never been to an OBA evening event, this is your sign.
Museumkaart
Amsterdam's museum ecosystem covers more than paintings — exhibitions, late nights, installation openings, artist talks. The Museumkaart calendar is the fastest way into the city's institutional arts world.
Luma
Where Amsterdam's tech, design, and creative communities organise themselves. Not everything on Luma belongs here — but the events that do tend to be very good.
Amsterdam Alternative
The guide to the city's underground and alternative culture — music, art, parties, happenings that don't fit anywhere else. Amsterdam Alternative is where you find things before they've been written up.
Weeknights
Regular social programming for people building a life in Amsterdam. Dinners, language exchanges, hobby groups, neighbourhood things.
Vanavond has no commercial relationships with venues or promoters right now. If that changes — for example, if a venue pays for an enhanced profile or a sponsored feature — we will label it clearly as "Promoted." No exceptions.
Editorial placement is not for sale. A paying partner does not get higher placement, more prominent cards, or editorial endorsement.
An independent project built in Amsterdam. It exists because every other option for finding out what's happening here is either ugly, incomplete, tourist-facing, or all three.
